Pregnant Women

The use of chiropractic treatment for pregnant ladies and children is becoming increasingly more popular all the time with the amazing results that it can achieve speaking for itself. Often Chiropractic is not even considered as people did not know that it could help conditions aside form neck pain, back pain, sciatica and so on. This however could not be further from the truth and the results that can be achieved throughout pregnancy and beyond with both baby and mum are profound.

Our chiropractor, Rohan had the privilege of working in a clinic when he first graduated that had a keen interest in treating pregnant mums and babies and so naturally that interest rubbed off on him and has become over time his love within clinic life and he to this day harbors a special interest in this area of practice. Rohan has completed extensive post graduate training in the areas of diagnosis/treatment of pregnancy related and pediatric conditions and is something that he will be continuing to develop in in the future.

Whilst pregnant the back (low back in particular), pelvis, pelvic floor, diaphragm and surrounding musculatures and many other structures are put under a lot of stress from the change of shape, the added weight and the increase in certain hormones during this time. Chiropractic treatment can help reduce discomfort through pregnancy itself in not just the back but all over as well increase movement and maintain flexibility as the big day approaches. Keeping your body in as good a condition as possible not only helps you feel and move better during the 9 months but also gives you an increased chance of having a straight forward delivery. Alongside the gentle and focused treatment we can advise you and give you home exercises/solutions to make things that little bit easier and the must do’s a bit more manageable.
