As the summer holidays are coming to an end, we thought there’s no better time to share our tips for keeping kids productive and healthy.
EXERCISE – Kids should be doing at least one hour of exercise per day. This has many benefits including cardiovascular fitness, building strong bones and muscles, and helps to maintain a healthy weight.
POSTURE – Sitting and standing up straight helps to stop aches and pains that often come about from frequent studying.
HEALTHY EATING – Limiting sugar intake (No more than 20-30 grams per day, depending on age), and ensuring kids have their ‘5 a day’ is a good place to start.
WATER INTAKE – Dehydration can have many negative effects. The recommended intake varies depending on your child’s age, however ranges from 5 to 8 glasses per day.
SLEEP – 9 to 11 hours per night is recommended for children! Lack of sleep can contribute to poor concentration, irritability and is important for growth & development.
LIMIT SCREEN TIME – Too much time on tablets/ watching TV etc can negatively contribute to several of the other points above.
